The two major Palestinian political groups have agreed to work together to ensure next week's legislative elections are not marred by violence.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah movement and the militant group, Hamas, said no-one would bring weapons near polling stations.
Both groups said they would make polling day a success.
Correspondents say there are fears that political tensions between the two might disrupt voting on 25 January.
