Gaza (Ma'an) – Gaza farmers continue to protest Israeli closures of commercial crossings in and out of the Gaza Strip, which is wreaking havoc on their already fragile economy.
Some 60 farmers in the Gaza Strip destroyed two tons of vegetables in front of the Rafah border crossing between the Strip and Egypt.
The move came in protest of the closing of Kerem Shalom and Karni crossings into Israel, and the huge economic losses they've incurred as a result.
One of the protesting farmers, Younis Shebani, said, 'The farmers lost about 300,000 USD after closing the only passage to export our vegetables into Israel.'
The demonstration lasted for over an hour.
Last week, farmers destroyed tons of vegetables in front of Karni crossing and the European Union building in Gaza City.
