Tulkarem (Ma'an) - Israeli forces prevented Palestinians in Qifeen Village in northern Tulkarem from reaching their lands which are now on the other side of the Wall.
Resident Abu Husni said that he has 150 dunums of land behind the Wall and is not allowed to reach them in order to work in his olive groves.
The farmer told Ma'an Saturday, ‘We have 'permissions' from the Israeli authorities, but they refuse to honor them.’
Another northwestern West Bank resident of Tulkarem, Aref, told Ma'an, ‘Our entrance to our lands depends on the mood of the soldiers at the gates. This is against any law.’
Coordinator of the National Committee in the Tulkarem area, Suhail Salman, said, that there are more than 300 foreign and Israeli volunteers waiting for Israeli ‘permission’ to pass through the Wall gates in order to aid Palestinian farmers in planting 500 olive tress.’
Salman continued to say, ‘The soldiers at the gates not only prevented the foreigners and the Israelis, but also the Palestinian citizens trying to reach their own lands.’
Ma'an's area correspondent reported that hundreds of citizens sat down at the gate in protest, knowing they would be allowed to pass.
