Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas said Friday that he sets Palestinian policy, and is willing to talk to Israel at any time and about any subject.
Abbas, speaking to Israel's Channel 10 TV, also said that the militant Hamas group, which wrested power from Abbas' long-ruling Fatah party, is trying to halt rocket fire on Israel and is trying to calm Palestinian streets.
Hamas took over the Palestinian parliament last week, and is expected to form a Cabinet within weeks.
