Israeli forces attacking nonviolent demonstrators in Beit Sira Village near Ramallah

Ramallah (Ma'an) - Israeli forces are attacking nonviolent demonstrators in Beit Sira Village near Ramallah. The Palestinians began protesting against the Wall east of Ramallah Thursday morning and Israeli soldiers began severely attacking them. Eyewitness reports indicate that soldiers are beating demonstrators with fists and sticks, kicking and dragging.

Three Palestinians have been critically injured out of some 200 villagers and foreigners demonstrating. Israeli soldiers have surrounded the people who range from children to the elderly. Many are sitting down on the ground near the bulldozers that are destroying Beit Sira Village lands for Wall construction.

Some 25 soldiers on foot are beating demonstrators, along with eight Wall guards carrying automatic rifles. The soldiers are shooting live ammunition into the air and tear gas into the crowds. Three Israeli jeeps, four hummers, and several bulldozers are in the village.
