Fatah and Hamas representatives meet with PM Haniyeh and Egyptian delegates on Wednesday to seek ways to defuse tension

Gaza-Ma'an- Leaders of the two Palestinian factions Fatah and Hamas are to convene in Gaza on Wednesday with Palestinian Prime Minister Ismael Haniyeh and Egyptian delegates in order to discuss the recent regrettable incidents and differences between the two factions and to ease and defuse the tension spreading in the Palestinian street.

Egyptian media sources told Ma'an News Agency that a meeting was held in the city on Tuesday in which they agreed on many issues including mechanisms for implementing ways to investigate the incidents and to form an investigation committee.

In the last meeting, the two movements agreed to form a committee and to meet the Prime Minister to discuss and deepen the national unity, end the tension, and prevent bloodshed. The two movements also agreed to condemn all assaults and attacks which targeted Palestinian people and properties.

The two factions praised the Egyptian role in the meetings, saying it reflects the Egyptian government's concern towards the Palestinian people and issue. They requested that the Egyptian delegates take their best regards to the Egyptian president.

It was decided that the two factions would continue their meetings on Wednesday in order to find solutions to the current state of disorder and lawlessness.

In the last twenty-four hours the Gaza Strip has witnessed further unfortunate incidents: one man was killed and another four injured in gunfire, and a roadside bomb exploded at the gate of a Hamas activist in the central Strip without any injuries reported.

Salim Qadeeh, 22, died of wounds he sustained when anonymous armed men kidnapped three Hamas activists from the Qadeeh family in Abasan, east of Khan Younis. The kidnappers shot at them and injured them.

In related news, two activists from the Al Qassam Brigades, the Hamas-affiliated military wing, were injured during clashes with anonymous armed men in Jala'a Street in the center of Gaza City.

Medical sources said that two injured men arrived to the Ash-Shifa'a hospital, one with wounds in the foot and the other with wounds in the hand.

In Ansairat refugee camp anonymous people detonated a small roadside bomb at the entrance gate to the house of Sheikh Wafa Ayyad of Hamas. No casualties were reported but eyewitnesses said that the explosion caused some damage to the house.
