20 dunums of Palestinian land catches fire when Israeli helicopters launch flares over West Bank farmland

Jenin-Ma'an-Approximately 20 dunums of Palestinian land caught fire on Monday morning when Israeli forces fired flares over the Al Baqi'ah region, east of Tubas in the northern West Bank.

In a phone call to Ma'an, the Palestinian farmers reported that the Israeli helicopters hovered over the aforementioned region to launch the flares. The farmers said that where they fell, the vegetation caught fire and led to the burning of the land that was planted with seeds.

The Palestinian fire brigade rushed to the region, where they managed to extinguish the fire after three hours. No injuries were reported.

The Tubas region witnesses Israeli helicopters flying over on an almost daily basis; frequently soldiers are dropped into the region and flares are launched in the region.
