Barghouthi meets with European politicians to call for international support for Palestinians

Ramallah - Ma'an – Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) member and Palestinian national initiative leader, Dr. Barghouthi, met with the Italian foreign minister, Massimo Dallema, to discuss the Palestinian situation.

Barghouthi and Dallema discussed the difficult situation the Palestinian arena is encountering, especially the siege imposed on the Palestinian people and Israeli policies of aggression.

Barghouthi confirmed the importance of the formation of the unity government and the necessity to have the support of the international community in order to open horizons for a comprehensive and just peace.

Barghouthi also called for the convening of an international conference for peace to end the longest occupation in modern history and to benefit from the dissatisfaction spreading through the Middle East; as the Palestinian issue is the key to peace and security in the region.

Barghouthi also met with a German Green Party delegation; he explained to them the prevailing situation in the territories and the Palestinian suffering under the Israeli occupation.
