Nablus - Ma‘an - The Israeli forces continued their vast military operation, codenamed ‘Operation Hot Winter‘, in the city of Nablus, in the north of the occupied West Bank, on Thursday.
The operation began on Sunday, the inhabitants of Nablus were granted a brief respite on Tuesday, and the Israeli forces returned with renewed force on Wednesday. They are claiming to be searching for ‘wanted‘ militants in the city. For the second consecutive day on Thursday, the Israeli forces besieged many Nablus residences, especially in the old city.
Our correspondent in Nablus reported that the Israeli forces have been besieging a building in the Rafidia neighborhood in west Nablus since the early morning on Thursday. He added that the Israeli military force, which includes a number of military bulldozers, has totally encircled the al-Hindi building and forced all residents to evacuate. Through loudspeakers, the Israeli troops are demanding that all so-called ‘wanted‘ residents surrender, claiming that there are activists from the-Aqsa Brigades, the main military wing of Fatah, hiding in the building.
The building is close to An-Najah University in Nablus, which has been closed since the start of the operation.
Also in Al-Far‘a refugee camp, north east of Nablus, Palestinian security sources said that the Israeli forces are besieging a house claiming that ‘wanted‘ members of the Al-Aqsa Brigades are taking refuge there.
The Israeli military-imposed curfew on Nablus continues.
