Ramallah - Ma‘an - Palestinian minister of information Dr Mustafa Barghouthi said on Monday, following the cabinet‘s session, that deputy Prime Minister Azzam Al-Ahmad is entrusted to take charge of Jerusalem affairs, while minister of state Wasfi Qabaha is to address the issue of the separation wall and settlements.
Barghouthi, speaking during a press conference in Ramallah, added that the cabinet endorsed the international agreement of disability rights.
The meetings of Palestinian government officials and the British consul general in Jerusalem, Richard Makepeace, tackled the issue of the abducted BBC reporter, Alan Johnston, revealed Barghouthi.
He added, ‘The cabinet‘s session discussed the visits of myself and the minister of foreign affairs to Austria, Canada, France, Italy and Spain.‘
He continued: ‘These visits aimed to assure the international community of Palestinian unity, and to reject selectivity regarding cooperation with Palestinian ministers. The meetings also sought to confirm that all financial aid must go through the ministry of treasury.‘
Barghouthi reviewed the Palestinian government‘s financial status and reaffirmed that the Palestinian economic crisis is due to Israel‘s detention of Palestinian tax revenues mounting to $500 million.
