25 Palestinians arrested on Tuesday

Israeli sources said that the Israeli forces arrested 25 Palestinians in different areas of the West Bank early on Tuesday.

Israeli radio said that an Israeli force was shot at near Nablus, in the northern West Bank, and another force was shot at near Surda, in northern Ramallah, but no casualties were reported.

The radio station added that the Israeli forces found a gun during a search campaign in Al Azariya, east of Jerusalem.

Palestinian security sources revealed that the Israeli forces arrested five Palestinians from Nablus. The sources told Ma‘an‘s correspondent that dozens of Israeli soldiers penetrated Ras Al Ein and Iksheika street in the centre of the city, before arresting the men they claim are ‘wanted‘ and taking them to an undisclosed destination.

The sources added that the Israeli soldiers occupied the roofs of many buildings and raided several houses in the city.

The Israeli forces also arrested four Palestinian operatives from the Fatah and Islamic Jihad movements in Qaffin, in northern Tulkarem. Four houses were broken into during invasion.

Ma‘an‘s correspondent reported sources in the Islamic Jihad movement and security sources as stating that the arrested Palestinians were all from the village of Qaffin. One is a student at An Najah university, 23-year-old, Yousef Ahmad, and is a Fatah activist. Another is a member of the Palestinian intelligence service, 24-year-old, Anan Tayseer. The men were taken to an unknown destination.

The Israeli forces failed to arrest four others from the same village; the soldiers stormed their homes and searched them, before handing the families orders to turn in their sons.

Another Israeli force raided Nur Shams refugee camp, east of Tulkarem, and Far‘un village, but no arrests were reported.

The Israeli forces arrested five Palestinians from Bethlehem on Tuesday early morning. Palestinian security sources said that Wiasm Nasri, age 32, Ahmad Salah, age 29, from Al ‘Asakira village, Ali Mohammad, age 55, from Rakhma, east of Bethlehem, and teacher Hasan Zawahra, age 29, from Al Ma‘sara village, south of Bethlehem, were all arrested and taken to unknown destination.
