Names of ministers of the emergency government

The Palestinian Madar News Agency reported that the newly appointed Palestinian Prime Minister, Dr. Salaam Fayyad formed an 12-minister government, in addition to his post, and that the ministers were sworn in on Sunday afternoon.

The ministers are from the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

Following are the name of ministers of the new emergency government:

1. Salaam Fayyad (Third Way Bloc) as Prime Minister and Minister of Finance.

2. Abdul-Raziq Al Yahia (close to Fateh movement) as Minister of Interior and civil affairs.

3. Ziad Al Bandak as Minister of Agriculture and local government. (Christian, close to Fateh)

4. Lamis Al Alamy as Minister of Education. (Independent, from Jerusalem)

5. Kholoud D‘ebis as Minister of Tourism and Women Affairs. (Independent, Christian)

6. Mohammad Kamal Hassouna as Minister of Economy and Public Labor. (Close to the Palestinian National Initiative)

7. Ziad Al Malky as Minister of Justice.

8. Samir Abdullah as Minister of Planning and Labor. (close to the Palestinian People Party)

9. Fathi Abu Mahli as Minister of Health.

10. Riyadh Al Malky as Minister of Labor and Information.

11. Jamal Bawatna as Minister of Waqf and Social Affairs.

12. Ahsraf Al Ajramy (close to Fateh) as Minister of Youth, Sport and Detainees affairs.

13. Mash-hoor Abu as Minister of Transportation.

The government officially held its first meeting on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Hamas movement called on Arab and other countries not to deal with the government of Fayyad and considered it illegitimate.

Sami Abu Zuhri, media spokesperson of Hamas, stated that the government of Fayyad is illegitimate, surpassed the basic Palestinian law, and violated the Palestinian national consensus.

The World Bank and the United States said that they will resume financial aid to the Palestinian government.

U.S Consul General in Tel Aviv, Jacob Walles, stated that the United States will lift the embargo and resume the financial aid in order to allow the Emergency Government o function. Walles added that he urged other countries to do the same.

Walles also said that the US and its "partners" will issue official statements this week announcing the resumption of aid to the government and officially dealing with it "as long as it does not have any Hamas minister."

On Monday, the US president George Bush will hold a meeting with Israel‘s Prime Minister, Ehud Olmert.

The two leaders will discuss the means to separate the Gaza Strip from the West Bank after Hamas fully controlled the Gaza Strip. They will also discussed the means needed to support the Palestinian president, Mahmoud Abbas.

Also, Olmert said that Israel is willing to free the withheld tax revenue and transfer it to the new Palestinian government, but it will still wait to see how the new government is functioning.

Olmert added that the Us government "rushed to support Fayyad, but we in Israel have to wait since we believe that there is war between different powers in the Palestinian Authority."
