Seven Palestinians killed in Israeli air strikes in the Gaza Strip

Gaza – Ma‘an – Ma‘an‘s correspondent in the Gaza Strip said on Saturday afternoon that six Palestinians were killed in Israeli air strikes in the Gaza Strip.

Three were killed in the first raid, which struck a car in Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip.

Our correspondent reported that an Israeli drone launched two rockets at a Subaru car, which was travelling in the centre of Khan Younis, destroying the car completely and killing its occupants.

The victims were affiliated to the Al Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad movement.

Ma‘an‘s correspondent revealed the names of the victims: Ziad Ghannam, aged 43, a prominent Al Quds Brigades leader, considered the target of the shelling; Muhammad Ar Ra‘i, 38, responsible for the destruction of an Israeli tank using a rocket-propelled grenade near the Gazan border; and Raed Ghannam, 24, nephew of Ziad and an explosives manufacturer.

The director of the ambulance and emergency department in the Palestinian ministry of health, Dr. Muawiya Hassanein, said the corpses arrived at hospital "burnt to ashes."

Four bystanders were also injured in the air strike, including one who is in a critical condition.

4 killed in a separate air strike

Four Palestinian citizens were later killed in a new Israeli air raid on a blacksmith‘s workshop on the Salah Addin Street, in the central Gaza Strip.

Eyewitnesses said that the Israeli strike targeted a workshop, which belongs to the Quffa family, near the second entrance to Al-Maghazi refugee camp, in the central Gaza Strip.

According to Dr. Hassanein, three corpses arrived at the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, including a father and his son.

Dr Hasanein named the victims as: Salah Quffa, aged 50, his son Iyad, 28, and Sameer Abu Musallam, 40. Several others were injured in the attack.

The Fatah-affiliated Ayman Juda groups‘ spokesperson, Abu Thaer, announced that Salah Quffa was the leader of the group‘s joint operating unit and his son Iyad was in charge of manufacturing. He threatened to continue launching homemade projectiles at Israeli towns in addition to conducting bombing operations in Israel.

This strike took place just a few hours after the earlier one, which resulted in the deaths of three Al Quds Brigades activists in Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip.

Palestinian medical sources late on Saturday evening announced the death of Ali Al‘ Aydi, aged 27, after he succumbed to wounds he sustained in the second Israeli strike on the blacksmith‘s workshop, in the central Gaza Strip.
