Ramallah – Ma‘an – Palestinian Legislative Council member, and secretary general of the Palestinian National Initiative party, Mustafa Barghouthi, has met in Ramallah with the Swedish Consul General. They discussed the latest developments in the occupied Palestinian territories and "the dangerous repercussions" of the domestic divide between the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
The meeting also discussed Israeli measures in the occupied Palestinian territories, including the siege, the restriction of movement and the closure of the Gaza Strip crossings.
Barghouthi revealed that he illustrated to the Swedish consul the "reconciliation initiative" which the Palestinian National Initiative and the PFLP jointly proposed, "in order to end the current crisis".
