Gaza – Ma‘an – Two Palestinian naval officers were killed and five others injured in an Israeli airstrike on their base off the Gaza coast, near Khan Younis.
Mu‘awiya Hassanain, the director of emergency and ambulance services in the Palestinian health ministry named one of the deceased as Rami Abu Ar-Rus. The other officer has not yet been named.
The five injured are said to be in a serious condition.
An Israeli army spokesperson told Ma‘an that Israeli fighter planes targeted a Hamas base in southern Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.
He claimed that the base had been used several times to shell Israeli towns.
