Ramallah, 29-06-08: The Israeli military continued its violent repression today of peaceful demonstrations against construction of the Apartheid Wall on the lands of Ni’lin village.
Some 15 people were injured when Israeli forces fired tear gas, rubber-coated bullets, and sound bombs at non-violent demonstrators, who included women and children.
Jonathan, an Israeli protestor, and 18-year-old Abdel Halim Khawajeh were both injured by rubber-coated bullets in the leg and chest respectively. Another man, Ibrahim Fahmi Srour had his hand broken when a sound bomb exploded on it.
Palestinian farmer Ahmad Rashida was also beaten by Israeli troops in front of his 8-year-old daughter.
Ma’an News has reported that over 150 people have been injured by Israeli military violence since peaceful protests against construction of the Wall began in Ni’lin over a month ago.
